Home and Navigation
A guide to moving around the Localis Platform: how the sidebar works (workspace + module navigation), what you’ll see on the Home page, and where to find help, settings, and notifications.
Navigation Overview
Most of your day-to-day navigation happens in the left-hand sidebar. It’s designed to give you quick access to:
your current workspace (and switching to another one)
Module navigation (Home, Spend, Accommodation, etc.)
Quick links like docs, contact us, appearance (light/dark mode), and settings
Notifications and your Profile

Workspace Selector
At the top of the sidebar you’ll see the workspace selector (a button showing the workspace name, e.g. “QTIC”).
Use this to switch between different workspaces you have access to (for example, different organisations, regions, or environments).
When you switch workspaces:
the available modules may change
the available regions/geographies may change
the platform may open with a different default landing page depending on the workspace setup

Tip: If you can’t find a workspace you expect, your account likely hasn’t been granted access yet.
Module Navigation (the main menu)
The middle section of the sidebar is the module list. This is the primary way to move around the platform.
Typical modules include:
Home
Sentiment
Events
Compare
Visitation
Flight
Accommodation
Spend
Clicking a module takes you into that part of the platform.
A quick expectation-setter: region/filters reset between modules
When you switch modules, your selected region and filters do not carry across.
That’s normal, modules can support different geography levels or load with different defaults.
Best practice: every time you open a new module, quickly check:
the selected region / boundary type
the date range and granularity

Collapsing the sidebar
If you need more space for charts or tables, you can collapse the sidebar using the collapse/expand control on the edge of the navigation.

Top bar icons (Notifications + Profile)
Notifications
The bell icon shows platform notifications (e.g. new data drops, module updates, important announcements).

Profile & settings
Your profile icon opens profile-related options (such as account details, preferences, and log out).
Depending on your workspace, this may also include access to user settings.

Quick links and controls (bottom of the sidebar)
At the bottom of the sidebar you’ll see a few quick-access controls.
These include:
Light / dark mode
Switch between light and dark mode using the appearance toggle.
Screenshot placeholder: Light/dark mode toggle highlighted.
Docs
Open the Localis documentation (this site).
Screenshot placeholder: Docs icon highlighted in the bottom bar.
Contact us
Open support/contact options so you can report an issue or send feedback.

Large Language Model (LLM) selector
All workspaces include an LLM selector near the bottom of the sidebar. This controls which LLM is used for AI-powered summaries or insights in supported parts of the platform.

Note: AI features and available models may vary by workspace.
Home Page Overview
The Home page is designed as a “single-glance” summary for your selected region. It combines:
key headline metrics (recent performance and YoY context)
a forward-looking view of what’s likely coming next
quick access to help and suggested articles
Screenshot placeholder: Full Home page with the main sections highlighted (filters, metric cards, “What’s happening next?”, help panel).
Home filters (selecting your region)
At the top of the Home page you can select:
the boundary type (e.g. Tourism Region)
the specific region (e.g. Tropical North Queensland)
When you update these, the cards and charts on the page refresh to reflect your selection.
Screenshot placeholder: Home page region selectors highlighted (boundary type + region dropdowns).
Metric cards (weekly + year-on-year context)
Home includes metric cards that summarise recent performance. Each card typically shows:
the current value for the latest period
previous week and change
one year ago and change
These cards are intended for quick scanning, they help you spot shifts without digging into a full module straight away.
Screenshot placeholder: One metric card close-up with labels for “current”, “previous week”, and “1 year ago”.
Tip: If a card appears blank or missing, it’s usually due to data availability for that region, compliance thresholds, or the selected boundary level.
What’s happening next (forward-looking demand)
The What’s happening next? section provides a forward-looking view of expected demand using available forecasting/forward datasets (e.g. Future Occupancy).
Use the dataset selector (e.g. “Future Occupancy”) to change what’s displayed.
The chart helps you identify upcoming peaks, quiet periods, and seasonal shifts.
Screenshot placeholder: “What’s happening next?” chart with the dataset selector visible.
Via the lightbulb, you will also see an AI insight with an explanation panel describing what the trend suggests.
Screenshot placeholder: AI insight panel beside the forecast chart (if present).
Help panel (Docs + Contact us)
At the bottom of Home you’ll see a help section with:
quick buttons for Docs and Contact us
links to suggested articles (common tasks and FAQs)
This is the fastest way to get unstuck!
Screenshot placeholder: Help panel showing Docs/Contact buttons and the suggested articles list.
