Home

The Home page gives you a quick summary of how your region is performing — what’s happened recently, how it compares to last year, and what’s coming up next.

Page Overview

The page is made up of three main areas:

  1. Region and map controls — choose your region and adjust how nearby events are included.

  2. Performance metrics — weekly and year-on-year comparisons across key indicators.

  3. Upcoming trends — forward-looking charts and AI insights showing what’s next.

Selecting a Region

At the top of the page, you can choose which boundary the data should represent. This lets you switch between different statistical or tourism areas depending on the level of detail you need.

Available options:

  • Tourism Region — 2021 boundaries

  • LGA (Local Government Area) — 2024 boundaries

  • SA2, SA3, Suburb, Postcode — 2016 ABS boundaries

  • Custom Regions — any boundaries uploaded or created during onboarding

When you switch between these, all charts, metrics, and AI insights update automatically to reflect that region.

Map Component

The map sits alongside the filters and appears on every page of the platform. It gives you a visual way to confirm which area your data relates to and how nearby events might influence it.

Key things to know:

  • Dynamic area highlighting — when you select a region, it’s shaded on the map so you can clearly see its boundaries.

  • Event radius slider — use the slider to expand or narrow the search radius for events. This helps capture nearby concerts, sporting events, or festivals that might impact visitation or spending.

  • Interactive view — clicking or hovering over the map gives extra details about that area. The map and metrics stay in sync — whatever region you’re looking at on the map is exactly what the numbers reflect.

  • Consistent across modules — the same map experience appears on other pages like Spend, Accommodation, and Events. Any area you select here carries through automatically.

Metrics Summary

The Home page highlights the main weekly and yearly trends for your selected region. Each card shows the current value, last week’s value, and the same week a year ago, along with percentage changes.

You’ll typically see:

  • Spend – total visitor spending in the region

  • Footfall – total visitor volume or device counts

  • Accommodation Occupancy – proportion of rooms or beds booked

  • Flight Searches – search interest to the destination

Positive changes are shown in green, and declines in red. These metrics give a quick read on how performance is shifting week to week and season to season.

What’s Happening Next

This section forecasts upcoming demand using datasets such as Future Occupancy and Flight Searches. You can toggle between datasets using the tabs above the chart.

Each chart shows the daily rhythm of demand for the next few months, helping identify busy periods, quiet spells, or seasonal shifts. AI insights appear beside the chart to explain the trends and suggest actions you can take.
